All 27 applications Bromley registered from 17 to 22 September: a Milk Street nursery seeking 42 children, up to 9 homes behind Fishers Wood Grove, a padel club redesign.

Bromley Council registered 27 planning applications between 17 and 22 September, the latest week available from its register. Fifteen are householder extensions and four are tree works in conservation areas. Three are worth a closer look, and one of them is the subject of its own report today.

The council’s register is a Salesforce site that will not open without JavaScript, so every link below goes to the PlanIt copy of the same record, which carries the reference, the description, the ward and the consultation date (PlanIt, Bromley).

The ones to know about

  • A nursery asking to keep 42 children, not 18. The Lighthouse Nursery at Halls Farm House, Milk Street, has applied for “retention of the increased capacity of existing Day Nursery from 18 children to 42 children”. Delegated decision, comments to 14 October (26/03677/FPA). Our full report, with the Ofsted record, is here.
  • Up to nine homes behind Fishers Wood Grove. A permission in principle application seeks “1no (minimum) and 9no (maximum) dwellings” on land to the rear of 3 to 7 Fishers Wood Grove, Bromley Common. Permission in principle settles only whether housing is acceptable on the site; the number, design and access come later in a technical details consent. Comments to 13 October, target decision 21 October (26/03657/PIP).
  • The Club Langley padel courts change shape. Last year the council granted four padel courts with open-sided canopies, a clubhouse and parking at Club Langley, 2 Hawksbrook Lane, Beckenham. The club now seeks a minor material amendment “to allow for changes to the approved plans to include revised canopy and clubhouse design”. Comments to 9 October (25/03623/S73A).
  • A cafe kitchen on Beckenham Road. At 255 Beckenham Road, a ground floor rear extension would “provide food preparation area and customer seating”. Comments to 12 October (26/03643/FPA).

What it means for you

To comment, search the reference on the council’s planning register before the consultation date given above. Householder applications typically close within about three weeks of registration. Our planning applications guide explains what counts as a material consideration.

Every application this week is listed for a delegated decision, meaning officers decide it under the council’s scheme of delegation unless a councillor calls it in to a Plans Sub-Committee. The next Plans Sub-Committee No. 1 sits on 8 October (council calendar).

Descriptions are the council’s own wording, shortened where they run to several lines. The applicant’s name is not carried in the PlanIt copy of the register, so we do not name applicants here.
